A Man’s Wallet: The Louis Vuitton Amerigo

The Louis Vuitton Amerigo Wallet does combine beautiful design with great versatility. The Damier Graphite canvas looks top notch and is a real eye-catcher. But — and you will be surprised — it is also a bit modest, since it doesn’t have written “Louis Vuitton” all over it. I do especially like that — though it is a matter of personal taste.

Louis Vuitton Amergio WalletThe Amerigo does easily fit in my pocket — whether I wear a tight jeans or fine dress pants. Though the wallet is quite compact, it offers a ton of features: 8 credit card slots, 2 flat pockets for tickets and notes, a transparent window for your ID or pictures of your beloved ones.

A big must-have for me: the coin pocket. I use it nearly every day, since in Germany a lot of small shops like traditional bakerys do not accept any credit/debit cards at all. The size of the coin pocket with its silver cloured zipper is fine, though it couldn’t be big enough for me. Beware: If you pay with coins regularly, take care there is no stiff card in the transparent window (which is on the coin pocket’s back side), else you are really gonna have a hard time to grab the coins with your fingers. That’s a bit of a design flaw — therefore I cannot put my stiff German ID card in the pocket window. But hey, nothing is perfect and I can stand this little imperfection.

However, the Amerigo is an awesome wallet and a great gift for almost every occasion. You can order it at the Louis Vuitton Website or buy it in one of the LV stores around the world. They can even personalise it for you by hot stamping up to three silver or golden initials on it. Advice: Give your local store a call to make sure they have it in stock, since the Amerigo is a very popular wallet.
